Abstract

|
|
Purpose : The purpose of this study is to investigate the current status of operation and ward environment of psychiatry in regional public hospitals.
Methods: The method of this study utilized legal system and statistical data analysis, and drawing analysis of psychiatric ward.
Results: In addition to treatment, psychiatric wards require additional space for special purposes such as psychological stability, social rehabilitation, and psychotherapy and so on. The room should improve the quality of the environment, taking into account the patient's psychological state, privacy, safety, amenity and hygiene. In addition, various types of room are needed to ensure sufficient area per bed.
Implications: Psychiatric wards should be provided with a preference for psychological consideration of patients. The result of this study would be useful as a reference to plan psychiatric wards.
